138: Bay Area Pet Fair Highlights, Part 1, in Pleasanton, California

The Bay Area Pet Fair, hosted by Pet Food Express, is on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 & 17, from 10:00am to 5:00pm. In Pleasanton, California at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. It is California’s largest pet adoption event, and the goal is 1,500 adoptions.

Mike Murray is our inspiring guest today. With Pet Food Express, Mike runs the Bay Area Pet Fair, the largest pet adoption event in California with over 1,100 animals adopted last year. Mike shares why we should all consider a rescue animal, the venue change this year, and how to make the most of your visit!

The Bay Area Pet Fair, hosted by Pet Food Express, is the largest pet adoption event in California! This year’s Pet Fair will be September 16 & 17, 2017 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. The Fair will feature more than 70 rescues and shelters and will welcome over 50,000 attendees, some 1,500 of whom are expected to go home with a new pet. Thousands of dogs, cats, and small animals of all sorts will strut their stuff looking for their new forever home!

83: Nancy and Harold talk the Boomerang, the Pirate, and Athena

Nancy and Harold Rhee catch up on three wonderful dogs – Phelps, Giovanni, and Athena.

Phelps, also known as the Boomerang. Phelps was fostered, then adopted, then returned, and two days later got adopted at the Bay Area Pet Fair in San Rafael, California.

Giovanni, renamed Newton, also known as the Pirate. Giovanni is a one-eyed dog who Nancy and Harold took care of for an evening before he got adopted. The very next day he got adopted at the Bay Area Pet Fair.

Athena, who was a stinky, matted mess when Nancy picked her up, is now a beautiful dog. Here are some photos!
