138: Bay Area Pet Fair Highlights, Part 1, in Pleasanton, California

The Bay Area Pet Fair, hosted by Pet Food Express, is on Saturday and Sunday, September 16 & 17, from 10:00am to 5:00pm. In Pleasanton, California at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. It is California’s largest pet adoption event, and the goal is 1,500 adoptions.

Karen Schaver and Paul Griffin are our amazing guests today.

Karen Schaver runs Orphan Dog Rescue in beautiful Lake County, California. She talks with us about her goal to bring as many dogs to the Bay Area Pet Fair this weekend, with the hope of clearing out the shelters.

Paul Griffin is an accomplished author, with his newest children’s book, Saving Marty, launching on Tuesday, September 19. He is also a first-time father, with his adopted and musically talented teenage daughter, Ani. He shares about the book and his incredible journey with Ani.

The Fair will feature more than 70 rescues and shelters and will welcome over 50,000 attendees, some 1,500 of whom are expected to go home with a new pet. Thousands of dogs, cats, and small animals of all sorts will strut their stuff looking for their new forever home!
